Prothonotary Warbler

The page of the Prothonotary Warbler has been updated with magnificent descriptions of Frank M. Chapman, The Warblers of North America who references several other authors himself.

The photographs I took were in Northport, Long Island, NY in the Spring of 2025 when we had one Prothonotary visiting for few days and many birders went to see it. They are not common over here but this particular area of Northport, the Fuchs Pond, has a really good habitat for them, with lots of water and swampy areas, so, if one reaches these latitudes, it doesn’t surprise me that enjoyed that area for some time.
